メールマガジンでは「ボディビル」を取り上げました。

私はボディビルとはまったく正反対の世界にいる人間ですが、そのボディビルの世界を極めたのが今ではカリフォルニア州知事のシュワルツェネッガーです。

その代表作がこれ。

[Terminator, The]
(1984) a violent US film, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger appears as an android (=a machine that looks exactly like a person) who is sent back from the future to kill a woman before she can give birth to a child who will become a great leader in the future. In a second film, Terminator II (1991), Schwarzenegger appears as another android, but this time he is a good character who wants to help the humans.

ターミネーターってロボット・・・ではなくて、アンドロイドなんですね。

説明文ではカッコ内で説明されていますが、機械は機械だけどほとんど人間。

え？

それってサイボーグじゃないの？

最近サイボーグ009を読んだこともあったので。

まずはアンドロイドから。

これは、フィクションの話で（少なくとも現時点では）、なんだかんだいってもロボットです。

人間にそっくりなだけで。

ではサイボーグ。

In science fiction, a cyborg is a being that is part human and part machine, or a machine that looks like a human being.

こちらもフィクションですが（こちらもまた現時点では）、これは一部が人間であり、一部が機械であるような生き物・・・ま、生き物かどうかは別として・・・です。

となると、やっぱりターミネーターはアンドロイドですね。
