その説明文に、iron, steel, metal と、同じような雰囲気の単語が出てきたのですね。

そこで、今日はこれらを英英辞典で見てみましょう。

まず、ironから。

次に steel を見てみましょう。

iron から作られるのがこの steel です。

日本語だと「鋼（はがね）」ですね。

鉄から炭素を減らしていって作っていきます。

最後に metal です。

iron や steel だけでなく、gold, lead（鉛）なども metal です。

これは「金属」ということですね。

metal＞iron＞steel という感じですね。

それにしても、どれもハードロック、ヘヴィメタルのバンド名で見かけます。

METAL CHURCH とか IRON MAIDENとか。

でも、これらはあまり好きじゃありません。

爽やかな STEELHEART とか STEELHOUSE LANE とかは好き。

やっぱり鍛え上げられた「鋼」はいい！（メチャクチャな論理）
